The event will run in conjunction with The 6th Indian Iron Ore & Pellet Summit & 3rd India Coal Outlook Conference.

India is the world’s largest producer of direct reduced iron (DRI). DRI, among other metallics, has a share of about 25% of India’s total crude steel production. However, coal-based rotary kilns are the principal means of DRI production in India and concerns related to sustainability and energy efficiency continue to cloud the outlook on DRI production in the country. This conference seeks to incite discussion on the possible energy transition pathways for DRI producers, the government’s coal gasification policy and its ramifications for the sector, the ever-growing emphasis on domestic scrap generation, and the prospects for exports of metallics.
