• Steel melting capacity likely to ramp up from 6 MnT to 9 MnT in coming years
• Ferrous scrap imports crossed 3 MnT last fiscal; volumes to double in next 3 years. Metallic imports will also increase in a similar proportion
• Bangladesh – 2nd largest destination for scrapped ships in the world
