    Times are challenging as there is a scale down of production across both its steel and pellet plants, but future plans are being worked out to find markets and change in products offered for sale even as the government plays a supportive role, the steel industry veteran says.

    In the long run, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India is poised for growth wherein producing high-end products would be on the cards.

    Mr Oommen has served in the steel industry for 37 years and progressed through senior leadership positions at Essar Steel before becoming its CEO last year, also the time when the company got taken over by ArcelorMittal. He is a metallurgical engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology.
